STRATEGIC LEARNING INITIATIVES PARENT ENGAGEMENT TEAM EXCELLENCE HONORED FOR THIRD STRAIGHT YEAR
CHICAGO – September 4, 2007. Strategic Learning Initiatives (SLI) has won the 2007 Partnership Organization Award from the National Network of Partnership Schools (NNPS) at John Hopkins University. SLI was honored for making excellent progress in working with school and district leaders to accelerate student and adult learning through its programs implemented through networks of neighborhood schools.
SLI’s programs focus on shared leadership, professional development and parent engagement. Drawing upon forty years of research on best practices, SLI has instilled processes that successfully bring together parents, students, teachers, principals and administrators with the common goal to accelerate learning.
“Strategic Learning Initiatives is demonstrating that research-based approaches can be used to increase family and community involvement in ways that contribute to student success in school,” said Dr. Joyce L. Epstein, Director of NNPS.
This marks the third successive year SLI has been honored by the NNPS with its prestigious award. Congratulations to SLI’s Parent Engagement Team!
