Susan Jensen was the principal of Finkl Academy for eight years before joining the SLI team in 2008. Finkl Academy was recognized in a front page Tribune article for its success as one of the most improved schools in the state of Illinois during her tenure. In her previous position, she worked with SLI to implement the Focused Instruction Process in her school. Susan has her Certificate in Administration and Supervision, a M.ED in Reading and Learning Disabilities, and her M.S. in Elementary Education from DePaul University. She also holds a Certificate in Guidance and Counseling from Northeastern Illinois University. Susan has over 30 years experience in the Chicago Public Schools serving as a classroom teacher, counselor, assistant principal and principal.
